HTML Button That’s A Link
Making your own link button with your own custom text is easy. You might want this because it looks different from a normal HTML link (you know, the blue underlined text).
Here’s how the linkable HTML button looks like:
Sometimes you might want a linkable HTML button because it fits into your overall design look and feel as well. So here’s the code - it requires Javascript, but it’s really simple. Just copy and paste the following line of code and you’re done!
<INPUT TYPE="button" value="Link Button" onClick="parent.location='yourpage.html'">
Just replace “yourpage.html” with the URL of the page you want to click and go to, and replace “Link Button” with whatever words you want your button to show.

Free Flashcard Learning
Ack! I found this great learning application
It’s called jMemorise. And best of all, it’s open-source software!
jMemorise is a Java application that manages your flashcards by the famous Leitner system and makes memorizing facts not only more efficient but also more fun. It manages your whole learning progress and features categories, statistics and a visually appealing and intuitive interface.
A flashcard or flash card is a piece of paper that is used in schools as a learning aid (mainly in English-speaking countries). Flashcards can bear vocabulary, historical dates, formulas, etc. The purpose of using flashcards is memorization. You write a question on each card (and an answer overleaf), test yourself on them, and sort them into groups as you learn, according to your performance.
This strategy makes selective learning possible, that is: the more difficult the flashcards in a group, the more often you review that group. The result is, you save a lot of study time.
This method was proposed by the German psychologist Sebastian Leitner in the 1970s. Pimsleur language courses are based on a similar idea.
The basic idea is to divide the cards into different decks depending on the difficulty they present to you. This is done by repetitive quizzes in which you try to answer the question out of your mind. Every time you know the correct answer to a card, it is put on the next higher card deck. If you fail at a card, it is put back to the starting deck.
[The visual representation of decks in jMemorize]
This system is combined with time schedules. Cards that have been known, are considered to be learned until a specific expiration date has passed. The higher the deck, the more further away the expiration date is set. For example might a card that has been successfully checked for the first time be scheduled to be relearned one day later again, while a card that has been correctly answered three times in a row be considered as learned for about week. As long as a card is considered learned, it won’t appear in learn sessions.
As a whole, this system manages your personal learn sessions and allows you to focus on learning, while it automatically decides which facts should be learned right now to make the most out of your time.

Free Online Tool - Convert Movie Files (Avi, RM, MOV, etc)
This is unbelievable. I had a movie clip in .mov (Apple’s Quicktime format) and I needed to convert it into .avi so that I could insert it into a Windows Powerpoint. Apparently if I had a Macintosh, the Macintosh version of Powerpoint could play .mov natively. But oh well, shrugs.
So I looked online for solutions, because I really didn’t want to spend any money to buy a conversion software. Guess what? I found my answer - free online conversion tools!
These websites are absolutely fantastic! They’re fast, easy to use, and convert A LOT of formats. I found two - and I used the first one, which was Zamzar. Check them out:
http://www.zamzar.com
http://media-convert.com/

Zamzar was absolutely idiot-proof. I simply chose the file that I wanted to convert on my computer, and then it uploaded the file. It was only 2mb, so I didn’t have to wait very long. After which, I received an email telling me that my file was converted. There was a link in that email which brought me to the download page where I could download my movie in .avi format - amazing!

Vbulletin Can’t Login - Solve the Login Problem
Some Vbulletin users and owners may have experienced that some users face a problem logging in, especially with Internet Explorer (IE).
Does your problem sound like this: When the user logs in, the page shows the “Thank you for logging in” message, then refreshes, and the user is shown that he is not yet logged in. No error message is shown.
Well, the following 3 steps may help in solving this Vbulletin log in problem:
- Close all open browser windows and clear all cookies. Then load your browser and try logging in again. If that does not help, continue with the next suggestions.
- Login to your Admin CP, click on “vBulletin Options” in the left frame, and then select “Cookies and HTTP Header Options”. Once there, make sure that your “Path to Save Cookies” setting is set to “/” (without the quotes). If it is not, change it to “/”, save your settings, close your browser, clear your cookies, and try logging in again. If that still does not help, continue to step #3.
- Go back to your Admin CP, click on “vBulletin Options” in the left frame, and select “Cookies and HTTP Header Options” again. Check your “Cookie Domain” setting and make sure it is set to “(blank)”. If it is not, change it to “(blank)”, save your settings, close your browser, clear your cookies, and try logging in again.
If that still does not help, or the setting is already set to “(blank)”, change the setting to “.yoursite.com” (note the 2 dots!). Save your settings, close your browser, clear your cookies, and then try logging in again.
Note: By changing your “Cookie Domain” setting, it is possible to lock yourself out of the Admin CP if this is changed to an incorrect value. If this happens, upload the tools.php script (located in the ‘do_not_upload’ folder of the vBulletin zip file) to your admincp directory. Load the file in your browser and select the option to reset the cookie domain and path back to the defaults.

Confused? What’s DNS anyway? Read up about DNS first (Wikipedia) .

OpenDNS helps you navigate the Internet in a safer, faster, smarter and more reliable way. It requires nothing to download. OpenDNS doesn’t replace your existing Internet connection, it just makes it better.
