If you want to send a sms to AT&T customers in the USA and you’re at a computer, just send an email to <10-digit number>@txt.att.net. This 10-digit number does not include the + sign and country code.
An example would be:
4126661234@txt.att.net
The recipient would pay normal charges to receive SMSes.
